Tsugaru shamisen is both an instrument and style that originated in this region. It is noteworthy for its distinct sound made by striking the strings, which sound different depending on where they are struck. In between sets, Hasegawa gives lessons. She believes that playing a shamisen yourself is the perfect way to get to know the Tsugaru region!
