Hayabusa2 Capsule on Display at Museum

Museum Technology

A capsule of Japan’s Hayabusa2 space explorer went on display at a museum southwest of Tokyo. The container returned to Earth in December, bringing back materials such as sand and small stones from the asteroid Ryugu. JAXA researchers are analyzing the substances.

The exhibit is scheduled until March 16. Some 4,800 people have secured admission tickets through lotteries as the number of applications filed amounted to four times the available spots. Local schoolchildren got a preview of the capsule parts ahead of the general public.
