In this very entertaining video, Yoya Takahashi, a professional sushi chef, samples cheap sushi from American convenience, drug, and grocery stores.
His most memorable reaction regards sushi from Trader Joe's, which he describes thus: "Totally... zero star. Minus zero star." He then equates the wasabi in Whole Foods sushi to Play-Doh—though the shop otherwise fares remarkably well, getting halfway up the star chart.
Takahashi concludes by advising that it's simply best not to buy sushi at U.S. convenience or grocery stores—pick a sandwich or a hamburger instead!
