All Aboard the Snow Miku Train!

Trains J-Pop Snow Hatsune Miku Sapporo Hokkaido

For the last few years, Sapporo has thrown together the Snow Miku festival and raked in over ¥100 million in revenue, with about 40 different companies participating in the promotion. This year's design is sporty, with Hatsune Miku decked out in owl-themed gear and ready to take on the slopes.


The virtual idol's song "Yuki Ga Tokeru Mae Ni" ("Before the Snow Melts") by Doriko debuted in November 2015 with a preview of some of the activities planned for the festival come February. The city of Sapporo is also repurposing its trains as Snow Miku itashas (trains or cars with decorative decals) for the event.
