The virtual idol's song "Yuki Ga Tokeru Mae Ni" ("Before the Snow Melts") by Doriko debuted in November 2015 with a preview of some of the activities planned for the festival come February. The city of Sapporo is also repurposing its trains as Snow Miku itashas (trains or cars with decorative decals) for the event.
