It’s around 5:30 a.m. at Tsutanuma Lake in Aomori prefecture, northern Japan. Visitors were waiting at this observation deck for a special autumn landscape. People can enjoy the lake’s reflection of the colored leaves only for a few minutes around sunrise when there is no wind.

One visitor spoke about the experience. "It is my first time here, and it’s beautiful," they said. "I was waiting from around 4:30 a.m. We got lucky with the weather too. It was magnificent."

The number of spectators at the deck was limited to around a hundred this year to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
