Robots in the Age of Coronavirus
SoftBank Robotics has programmed “Servi” to stop when its sensors detect obstacles and change its course. The robot can carry loads of up to 35 kilograms and make its way through passages as narrow as 60 centimeters in width.
Servi not only helps lessen contacts between staff and customers but also reduce the burden on servers. SoftBank also has the robot, Pepper. This one is programmed to ask people who aren’t wearing a mask to put one on.
