Tokyo Olympics Will Start July 23, 2021
New start dates for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games have been confirmed after the events were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tokyo Organizing Committee President Yoshihiro Mori made the announcement at a news conference on Monday after a phone meeting with International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach. The Olympics will begin July 23, 2021 and run until August 8, while the Paralympics will kick off on August 24.
Despite the new dates the games will still be referred to as “Tokyo 2020.” Mori said he wants to keep sporting event schedules unchanged as much as possible.
