This filter for brass instruments like trumpets helps prevent the spread of droplets when users blow into them. This image shows tiny droplets coming out of the trumpet without the mask. With the mask on, droplets are hardly visible. The manufacturer has created some space between the filter and the instrument to ensure quality sound and the right feel for musicians.
