Luxury brands and eateries were some of the businesses that withdrew from Ginza Six, both suffering a major blow from the coronavirus epidemic. Ginza Six says it plans to introduce nearly 40 new stores to its establishment in the next few months. The operator says the outlets will cater for the stay-at-home demand.

The apparel industry has also been negatively impacted by the epidemic. Business wear giant Aoyama Trading is no exception. Business attire sales of the company has plummeted as the number of people working from home increased. Sources say Aoyama Trading plans to close around 160 out of its 850 outlets by fiscal year 2022.
