NINJA HARAJUKU Hair & Makeup Studio in Harajuku is offering a new program called KIMONO × Creative Hair Make Up × Photo Shoot, a three- to four-hour transformation experience. A qualified dresser puts the participant in kimono, makeup artists do the face, and a photographer shoots the result in the studio.
The studio treats the session—from styling and makeup to posing and photography—as one creative process.
Choosing the Kimono and the Makeup
The dresser selects the kimono for its colors, patterns, and texture, and for how it will look on camera. The obi, accessories, hairstyle, and makeup are then matched to suit each participant’s personality and desired look.
The creative makeup is the most distinctive part. Participants choose from original designs: Butterfly Makeup, inspired by butterflies; Dragon Makeup, built around bold, Eastern-inspired strength; and Higanbana Makeup, based on the red spider lily.
The Photo Shoot
When the styling is finished, the session moves to the studio. Kimono, hair, makeup and posing follow a single visual concept, and the photographs are shot as fashion editorials.
The studio is a three-minute walk from JR Harajuku Station. The BASIC plan costs ¥35,000, tax included.
