Osaka University professor Hiroshi Ishiguro has worked hard on his Erica, Otonaroid, and Geminoid robots. The latter includes the Geminoid HI-2, which he modeled after himself, and the female version Geminoid F, who is to star in an upcoming motion picture.

Opening November 21, Sayonara features Geminoid F as the android helper of actress Bryerly Long in a Japan that is forced to evacuate due to radiation contamination.
