Art Student Creates a 'Plock'

Kango Suzuki, an art student at the Tohoku University of Art and Design, thought it would be fun to create a moving mechanical device that had the ability to physically write out the time. With 407 hand-carved wooden moving pieces, this automation can accurately display the time using four magnetic stylus pens on a magnetic drawing board—a magnificent device he calls a "plock."
