3. Mango Sirene
For those of you who've just started getting into the world of cosplay, Mango Sirene is a great place to start off. Nina has many "Cosplay 101" videos that get into the makeup, wigs and even conventions that surround this creative hobby. While cosplaying can be a bit overwhelming as a newbie since you're starting with a blank slate, if you follow Nina's tips, that blank slate will eventually transform into a costume design!
2. Venus Angelic
By far one of the most popular cosplay YouTubers out there, Venus Angelic, has over 1 million subscribers on her YouTube channel. Not only does she do her hair and makeup to look like many types of dolls, including the Russian Matryoshka doll, but she even sounds like a cute doll herself, which has earned her the title, "The Living Doll."
While she does seem to focus quite a bit on dolls, some of her other videos feature more cosplay-related content, like how to have tsurui (sassy and sharp) or tare (soft and innocent) eyes—a useful skill to have when you want to perfect an anime character's look!
Man or woman, real-life or animated, Promise Phan knows no bounds when it comes to cosplaying as characters. In one video alone she can transition swiftly among three Johnny Depp characters: Willy Wonka, Edward Scissorhands and Captain Jack Sparrow—and even the well-known actor himself! If the character has a rather unique look like Emily in the Corpse Bride, she'll frequently give step-by-step advice for how to apply the appropriate cosplay makeup. If there's any particular character you'd like to try, chances are she's got some tips to help you on your way!
Now that you know how to put on cosplay makeup, go forth and practice, practice, practice!
