The SUSHI BUS departs from Kajibashi Parking Lot, a short walk from Tokyo Station, and runs a roughly 70-minute loop through the city center. The meal is prepared on board. A kitchen on the first level prepares fresh sushi, which is delivered to the upper deck by elevator, where staff place it on a conveyor belt. Passengers can take as much as they like until the ride ends. The quality seafood comes from wholesalers at Tokyo’s Toyosu Market.
A Giant Tuna Sushi on Wheels
The first bus in the fleet is modeled on tuna sushi, one of Japan's most popular varieties. It measures about 12 meters long and 4 meters high, which makes it easy to spot and worth a photo as it rolls through the streets.
The route passes some of Tokyo's best-known landmarks, including Tokyo Tower, Ginza, and Asakusa. The open-top upper deck can be closed in rainy weather, allowing the tour to operate in all conditions.
Dietary Needs
The service can also accommodate various dietary requirements, including vegetarian and halal options. Passengers with specific needs should inquire when making a reservation.
