McDonald's Giving Away Cups of Coffee!

American Burgers

McDonald's will be handing out free small hot coffees for the first 130 million customers between the hours of 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. from October 16 to 20, 2017. Considering the population of Japan is around 127 million, plus the 400,000 tourists that visit the country during a five-day span, that’s still about two million unaccounted cups of coffee.

Despite all this, there might be some timid types who still feel guilty about walking into a business simply to claim a free coffee. Luckily, McDonald’s has that base covered too, by offering Cinnamon Melts for ¥290 (US$2.60) also starting on October 16.

So, there you have it. This is the chance to throw all prejudices against McDonald’s coffee away and give it a try—maybe see what that whole Granblue Fantasy campaign is about too. And for those that already enjoy it, the ad technically says “one cup per customer” but considering the number, we don’t think they’re going to be policing it very strictly.

That being said, we kind of hope they really are counting every single cup being handed out and then have a video camera ready to capture the look on that 130,000,001st customer’s face.
