Use Your Smartphone as a Whiteboard

Technology Smartphones PR

Presentation Whiteboard, a new graphics app developed by Akashi Hamada for Android and iOS, has just been released on Google Play and iTunes. The graphics app turns your smartphone or tablet into a virtual whiteboard where you can write in freehand, draw diagrams, use your camera to take photos, and search for images on Google.

The app marketplace is full of graphics image editors replete with complicated functions to produce beautiful designs on the one hand, and highly simplified drawing apps aimed at kids on the other. Presentation Whiteboard is expressly designed to make the creation of visual explanations easier.

The whiteboard screen can be manipulated intuitively, and includes many tools that appear as easily recognizable icons. The interface is clean, with only icons for the basic functions appearing in the whiteboard tray while the rest of the functions are kept in a "drawer."

With this app, communicating thoughts and ideas by creating image-rich presentations from scratch is simple and fast. Icon tools are accessed in one tap. The board can then be saved as an image file and sent by email.

Real-World Solution

“I came up with the Presentation Whiteboard when I was stuck working on an upgrade of my real-time communication app, the Communication Whiteboard Cloud,” Hamada explains. ”Just adding more functions didn’t work, and I felt that I had to go back to the drawing board.”

His idea was to make all the functions available as simple icons. And rather than transmission functions, which incur server costs, he focused on adding more tools specifically for making presentations easy—explaining visually through images.

“Aside from the initial transmission capabilities and webcam integration, I plan on adding more functions to easily create visual explanations, such as hierarchical structures,” he adds.
