Ueno Zoo Opens New Panda Habitat

Tokyo's Ueno Zoological Gardens unveiled a new enclosure for two giant pandas on September 8. The Panda Forest houses couple Shin Shin and Ri Ri, both 15 years old. They are the parents of 3-year-old Xiang Xiang.

The facility re-creates an environment similar to the giant pandas’ habitat in China’s Sichuan Province. One visitor proudly proclaims, "It's my 498th time to watch pandas!" Little Xiang Xiang will remain alone in the original panda enclosure.
