Japan’s Olympic Uniforms Unveiled

Organizers of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Games unveiled Thursday, January 23, the official uniforms for Japan’s Olympic and Paralympic teams. The outfits were designed under the concept of “wearing Japan.”

The uniforms for the opening and other ceremonies are the first unified design for both the Olympics and Paralympics based on the theme of “symbiosis.” Japan’s ace swimmer Daiya Seto, a Rio Olympic bronze medalist, said he feels comfortable wearing the uniform as the material stretches well. With the Olympics set to open in 183 days, the athletes pledged to do their best on home turf.
