This Hikawa Shrine is the mother of all the other 280 similarly named Hikawa Shrines across Japan.

Take a trek along the two-kilometer "sando" path that leads to the entrance of this more than 2,000-year-old shrine. Indeed, the city of Omiya, where the shrine sits, is named Omiya (Great Shrine) because of this shrine.
