Sanja Matsuri is one of the three big Shinto festivals of Tokyo, celebrating the founders of Asakusa's historic Sensoji Temple. This event, which always occurs on the third week of May at Asakusa Shrine, parades through the streets of Asakusa, bringing everyone together from across the city and throughout Japan for three action-packed days.

Large floats are carried through the Tokyo streets, alongside dancers, monks, geisha and more! Visitors are sure to enjoy an extremely lively atmosphere, festival foods and entertainment for all ages.
