Jasmine T. of Zooming Japan walks readers through exactly how she got past the JLPT N2 test and prepped for the N1. She has some great suggestions for studying kanji in particular, noting that pure memorization didn't work for her after the first 150 or so, leading her to try the Heisig method, which enabled her to memorize the meaning of 2,000 kanji in just over two months!
