The first trailer for Batman Ninja (ニンジャバットマン・Ninja Battoman) was released on December 1, 2017. Coming to DVD and Blu-ray in 2018, the animated film is directed by Junpei Mizusaki and produced by Warner Bros., with character design by Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai).

The story sees Batman transported back to the Warring States Period (1467-1590), where he encounters Japanese versions of various allies and enemies, including Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman, Harley Quinn and, of course, the Joker.
