The 'Combini' in the Castle

The 'Combini' in the Castle

Exploring a castle can be thirsty work. So why should you have to leave the grounds when you want to recharge? With that in mind, on April 28, 2016, Lawson opened a convenience store right on the grounds of Osaka Castle Park.

By Lawson Station

Not to worry, convenience won't interfere with the view—it's located on the first floor of the existing east rest house across from Osaka-jo Hall, a 16,000-seat arena that's been on the grounds since 1983.

The Osaka Castle Lawson includes an eating area with seven seats, and you can pick up Osaka Castle souvenirs as well. Six more mini-shops will be opened on the grounds after May 2016. So now if you feel in the mood for a Premium Roll Cake, you don't even have to leave the safety of the castle walls!

Lawson seeks to realize its Corporate Philosophy of "Creating Happiness and Harmony in Our Communities" by operating neighborhood stores centered on its chainstore development and operation in Japan. Since opening its first store 40 years ago in June 1975, Lawson has evolved in response to changes in lifestyles and the social environment, resolving inconveniences that arise in its communities.
