An app is helping to facilitate communication in the new normal of the coronavirus age. Hearing-impaired people, in particular, are having trouble communicating as they cannot read lips behind face masks.

The application converts spoken words into writing that can be displayed simultaneously on two devices by swiping on one after speaking. Users can also write directly on the monitors.

The software can also translate between 15 languages and be used at places separated by acrylic plates. The app will be provided at no charge to institutions such as hospitals, government offices and facilities for the elderly through June 2021.
