Attack on Kansai-ben

Attack on Titan Manga Learning Japanese Kansai

As of March 2015, Volume 1 of the Kansai-ben (Japanese spoken in the dialect of the Kansai region) version of the Attack on Titan manga is available for free at e-book stores. Kansai-ben is fun, casual, and sounds more friendly than standard Japanese—and is also the cool, badass way of speaking that everybody tries to imitate but nobody can get quite right. If you want to learn Kansai-ben, it will be cool to learn it from Attack on Titan.

The Kansai-ben Attack on Titan isn't just about the words: it features gratuitous inserts of Kansai favorites such as takoyaki (fried octopus balls), okonomiyaki (savory pancakes) and the Tsutenkaku Tower.
