Actor Eddie Redmayne, who plays the lead role Newt in the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, appeared at a fan event in Tokyo on November 22, 2016 in advance of the November 23 Japan release of the film.

Opening with "Nihon ai shite imasu" ("I love Japan"—not really the usual way to say it, but it gets the fans excited), Redmayne goes on to comment on the various Hogwarts house scarves he can spot among the 400-plus cosplaying fans at the event. He was joined onstage by actors Alison Sudol (Queenie) and Dan Fogler (Kowalski), as well as director David Yates and producer David Heyman.
