On February 4, 2016, a press conference was held in anticipation of the March 12 Japan premiere of Disney and Pixar's The Good Dinosaur. Director Peter Sohn and producer Denise Ream spoke about their work.

After opening with "I love Japan," Sohn explained how, as the son of Korean immigrants to New York, it was easiest for him to enjoy animated movies with his non-English-speaking mother. "Even though my mom didn't understand the language, she could connect to these characters in a way that was moving to her," he said. "And that meant a lot to me. And ever since then I have always loved animation, and being at Pixar, they have that same kind of love."
