González Iñárritu on Composer Ruichi Sakamoto
MAiDiGi TV caught up with Leonardo DiCaprio and composer Ryuichi Sakamoto at the New York premiere of González Iñárritu's The Revenant. DiCaprio discusses his own feelings about Sakamoto's score for the limited-dialogue film, while Sakamoto describes the "gigantic amount" of requests director Iñárritu made of him as something like a mountain he had to climb up "step by step."
Iñárritu himself describes Sakamoto as one of his favorite musicians of the last three years, having used some of his songs in his acclaimed Babel in 2006. "It's very moving, his music," he adds.
