Noir by RIHGA is a new hot spring resort brand built around the concept of offering “heartfelt hospitality in a world of quiet.” The aim is to create a luxury hotel brand that provides high-quality rest through calm spaces that reflect the changing seasons, cuisine rooted in local ingredients, hot springs that ease both body and mind, and the style of hospitality cultivated by RIHGA Royal Hotels. Noir by RIHGA Kobe Arima will be the first property under this brand.
The hotel is planned to have 93 guest rooms in total, each with a floor area of at least 40 square meters. The interiors will draw on traditional Japanese architecture, and large windows will allow guests to spend time looking out over the surrounding mountains and the Arima River.
Inside the hotel, there will be a large public bath and private baths where guests can fully enjoy the waters of Arima, with a layout that also invites them to experience Japan’s hot spring cure culture. For dining, a specialty restaurant will showcase ingredients from Hyogo Prefecture, offering a sense of live performance through cooking carried out in front of guests and other features that bring out the stories of the seasons and the region. A tea-and-bar lounge is also planned, allowing guests to enjoy tea culture and creating a stay that functions as a “retreat” where people, nature, and food are gently connected.
The hotel will be located in the Arima area of Kobe, a hot spring destination long known as “Kansai’s inner retreat.” It is an area where visitors can easily stroll along stone-paved streets and through old-fashioned townscapes. The surroundings also offer seasonal scenery close at hand, from cherry blossoms in spring to fireflies in summer. Alongside walks through the Arima hot spring town, the hotel plans to promote a style of travel that focuses on spending unhurried time within the property itself. It is likely to become a new option for those looking to enjoy a slightly more luxurious stay in Arima Onsen.
