Tall ones are over two meters high. Some aged plum trees are more than 150 years old.

The agency had fewer staff members than usual work on finishing the bonsai to avoid a crowded environment as part of anti-coronavirus measures. They laid moss and white sand on the soil to create images of a river.

The plants will be placed at various areas at the Imperial Palace and related places from December 30.
