The Toyosu fish market in Tokyo resumed public viewing of tuna auctions after about eight months. The observation deck had been closed to the public since February 29 due to the coronavirus.

Eighteen people watched the event on November 2 wearing masks. People can apply for a place to watch the tuna auctions online or by phone. Visitors will be selected by lottery. To ensure social distancing, organizers have reduced the viewings from twice a day to once a day. They are limiting the number of participants to up to 27 each day.

The Toyosu market replaced the old Tsukiji market in 2018.
