20,000 people related to Tokyo Games to be vaccinated in Japan
Japan plans to offer coronavirus vaccinations to about 20,000 people related to the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
S/ Marukawa Tamayo, Olympic minister / The IOC has proposed to games organizers to consider including those who will work in tandem with various countries’ athletes among the recipients of Pfizer’s vaccine.
Pfizer is providing its coronavirus vaccine for the Tokyo Games at no charge.
Marukawa said Japan has expanded the recipients from athletes to also include officials and staff members.
They include competition referees, venue attendants and interpreters.
