All About Teigan Babcock
Californian turned ex-pat turned Missourian who loves rats, chai, and exploring cultures through gastro-tourism. I bounced back and forth between Japan and the USA starting in 2008, wound up on the JET Programme in 2011, and ended up in St Louis in 2015. I'm currently involved with the St Louis-Suwa City Sister Cities Program, so cheers to my favorite prefecture, Nagano!
What I like about Japan
The food! While some complain it is too salty or too bland, I've found that if you stray off the beaten path there is something for everyone. Hokkaido is a seafood lovers paradise, Osaka knows how to satisfy your junk food craving, and Yamanashi is famous for their "Hotto" comfort food.

The variety of animal cafes is the quirky quality of Japan whose novelty never wore off. Owl cafe, anyone?
