The Bar Just for Idol 'Wotaku'

If you think of Shinjuku's Kabukicho area, you'll probably imagine a place crammed with izakaya (Japanese-style pubs), host and hostess clubs, love hotels and nightclubs.

But in the midst of this hedonistic mix, you'll also find a bar named Yokkorasho (酔っこら処) where idol wotaku gather after idol concerts, before idol events, and to randomly talk about their favorites idols.

What's a wotaku? It's just an alternate spelling of otaku, but it seems to be the one preferred by fans of Japanese singing idols, who typically go as far as learning the dance moves that go along with the songs.

Yokkorasho is located exactly in the middle of Kabukicho, near that well-known tourist hotspot, the Robot Restaurant. It might be a little bit scary to go through the streets alone, but if you're a proper idol wotaku, we recommend you visit the bar at least once!
